Dear friends,

After 26 socially-distanced episodes, we are going to put Living Music: Pirate Radio Edition to bed. I want to thank you sincerely for all of your support.

I hope that Pirate Radio has been a place for joy, for art, and for community during an incredibly isolating moment. It has been energizing and inspiring to spend an hour or two with all of you every week. I can hardly believe that since our first episode on March 19th, we have featured 112 artists, all generously presenting work from their homes and work spaces!

We would like to leave you all with an incredible performance, initially aired on March 24th, 2020, as part of the second episode of Pirate Radio.

Calling in from the organ loft at St. Andrew Holborn church in London, organist James McVinnie performed this mesmerizing version of Philip Glass’s Mad Rush. Right after he finished taping, Jamie discovered that the UK had been put on coronavirus lockdown.

So thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. We look forward to presenting some less pirate-y Living Music in the near future, so please keep an ear out. Thank you again for your incredible contributions, your wonderful spirit, and for making time for art and camaraderie.

Sincerely,

Nadia Sirota (Host and Producer)
